Who am I?
Hi, I’m Alice Joe—a designer and advocate for meaningful, inclusive storytelling. My work centres on the belief that good design isn’t just about how something looks. It’s about the impact it makes, the stories it honours, and the communities it lifts up.

As a member of the Nlakaʼpamux Nation, I grew up on the Shulus Reserve outside Merritt, BC. My education took me through Thompson Rivers University, Vancouver Island University, and Emily Carr University of Art and Design, where I studied fine art, graphic design, technical writing, and UX design. These experiences shaped how I see the world—and how I create within it.

What I Do
Branding & Identity
Logos, icons, business cards, packaging, and presentations that tell your story at a glance.
Editorial Design
Magazines, annual reports, books, brochures, and layouts where words and visuals work together.
Events & Spaces
Tradeshow booths, banners, museum and gallery signage, wayfinding, and environmental graphics that help people find their way and feel at home.
Digital
Websites, social media, email marketing, and digital presentations built for clarity and connection.
Extras
Infographics, charts, creative direction, and consultation—plus the occasional project that doesn’t fit in a box.
Who I Work With
I feel lucky to work alongside people and organizations who care deeply about what they do. My clients are leaders, advocates, storytellers, educators, and change-makers. They inspire me, challenge me, and remind me why this work matters.
Some of the people and organizations I’ve worked with:
• BC Human Rights Tribunal
• Cowichan Tribes
• Continuing Legal Education Society of BC
• Indigenous Early Years Kinship
• Law Society of BC
• Lower Nicola Indian Band
• Myrna McCallum, Host of the Trauma-Informed Lawyer Podcast
• Nanaimo Museum
• Nlaka’pamux Nation Tribal Council
• UBC interCultural Online Health Network
• UBC Faculty of Education
• Union of BC Indian Chiefs
• Vancouver School Board

If you’re looking for thoughtful design, meaningful content, or a collaborator who truly gets what matters to you, I’d love to hear from you.
